Ibn Abi Qays, from 'Asim, from Anas ibn Malik: "And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allah is Appreciative and Knowing." He said: And the Tawaf between them is voluntary.

His saying: "Then indeed, Allah is Appreciative and Knowing."

1437 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' informed us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Appreciative and Knowing," he said: Indeed, Allah does not punish one who is appreciative nor one who is a believer.

1438 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi reported to me in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Marwudhi narrated to us, Shayban ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Qatadah, who said: There is nothing more appreciative than Allah, and nothing more rewarding of good than Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.

His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance."

There is a difference of opinion regarding its interpretation according to several views, one of which is:

[The First View]

1439 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq who said: And Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Mu'adh ibn Jabal, brother of Banu Salamah; Sa'd ibn Mu'adh, brother of Banu al-Ashhal; and Kharijah ibn Zayd, brother of Balharith ibn Khazraj, asked a group of the rabbis of the Jews about some of what was in the Torah. They concealed it from them and refused to inform them. So Allah revealed concerning them: "Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance from after We had made it clear for the people in the Book."

The Second View:

1440 - Muhammad ibn 'Aziz al-Ayli narrated to us, Salamah narrated to me, from 'Aqil, who said: Ibn Shihab said: Ibn al-Musayyib said: Abu Hurayrah said: If it were not for two verses that Allah revealed in His Book, I would never have narrated anything: "Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance..." until the end of the verse.

The Third View:

1441 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "Indeed, those who conceal what We sent down of clear proofs and guidance." He said: They are the People of the Book; they concealed Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and his description, even though they find it written with them. They concealed it out of envy and oppression, and they concealed what Allah had sent down to them regarding his command and his attributes. It was narrated from Qatadah, al-Suddi, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similarly.
