[The second interpretation]
78 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And spend from what We have provided for them," refers to a man's expenditure upon his family, and this was before Zakat was ordained.
[The third interpretation]
79 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah: "And spend from what We have provided for them," meaning spend from what Allah has given you, for these riches are merely borrowed property and deposits held by you, O son of Adam, and you are soon to part with them.
His saying, exalted is He: "And those who believe in what has been revealed to you, and what was revealed before you"
80 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj informed us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said regarding what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And those who believe in what has been revealed to you, and what was revealed before you," meaning they believe you regarding what you have brought from Allah, and what the messengers before you brought. They make no distinction between them, nor do they deny what they brought them from their Lord.
81 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And those who believe in what has been revealed to you, and what was revealed before you," they believed in the Furqan (the Criterion) and in the scriptures that preceded it, namely the Torah, the Zabur (Psalms), and the Injil (Gospel).
His saying, exalted is He: "And of the Hereafter they are certain"
82 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn 'Amr informed us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, who said regarding what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And of the Hereafter they are certain," meaning in the Resurrection, the Day of Judgment, Paradise, the Fire, the Reckoning, and the Balance. That is, these are [the believers, in contrast to] those who claim that they believe in what was before you while they disbelieve in what came to you from your Lord.
83 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And of the Hereafter they are certain," these are the believers from the People of the Book.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٧٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ فَهِيَ نَفَقَةُ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ، وَهَذَا قَبْلَ أَنْ تَنْزِلَ الزَّكَاةُ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ فَأَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا أَعْطَاكُمُ اللَّهُ، فَإِنَّمَا هَذِهِ الأَمْوَالُ عَوَارٍ وَوَدَائِعُ عِنْدَكَ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ أَوْشَكْتَ أَنْ تُفَارِقَهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ
٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ أَيْ يُصَدِّقُونَكَ بِمَا جِئْتَ مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَمَا جَاءَ بِهِ مَنْ قَبْلَكَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ، لَا يُفَرِّقُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَلا يَجْحَدُونَ بِمَا جَاءُوهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ.
٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلُهُ: وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَآمَنُوا بِالْفُرْقَانِ وَبِالْكُتُبِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ قَبْلَهُ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَالزَّبُورِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَبِالآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَبِالآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ أَيْ بِالْبَعْثِ وَالْقِيَامَةِ وَالْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ وَالْحِسَابِ وَالْمِيزَانِ. أَيْ هَؤُلاءِ الَّذِينَ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ آمَنُوا بِمَا كَانَ قَبْلَكَ وَيَكْفُرُونَ بِمَا جَاءَكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ.
٨٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: وَبِالآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ هَؤُلاءِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ.
