Qariz, who said: My mother, Umm al-Hakam bint Qari, narrated to me that she sent to Abu Hurayrah asking him. She said: "I am afflicted by what afflicts women of illness during Ramadan, so what is your opinion on making it up?" Abu Hurayrah replied: "Count the number and fast however you wish; Allah only intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship." It was narrated from Mujahid something similar.
His saying: "And that you complete the period"
1665 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja‘far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas regarding His saying: "And that you complete the period," [meaning] the period of Ramadan.
His saying: "And that you glorify Allah for that which He has guided you to, and perhaps you will be grateful"
1666 - My father narrated to us, Sahl ibn ‘Uthman narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Dawud ibn Qays, from Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And that you glorify Allah for that which He has guided you to," he said: "The glorification (Takbir) on the day of Fitr."
His saying: "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then indeed I am near"
1667 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, Jarir reported, from ‘Abdah ibn Abi Barzah al-Sijistani, from al-Sulb ibn al-Hakim, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, is our Lord near so that we may whisper to Him, or is He far so that we may call out to Him?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, remained silent, then Allah revealed: "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then indeed I am near. I respond to the supplication of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me and believe in Me." [Meaning:] When I command them to call upon Me, and they call upon Me, I respond to them.

1668 - Abu Zur‘ah narrated to us, ‘Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then indeed I am near. I respond to the supplication of the supplicant when he calls upon Me," he said: "There is no believing servant who calls upon Allah but that He responds to him; if that which he calls for is provision for him in this world, He gives it to him, and if it is not provision for him in this world, He stores it for him until the Day of Resurrection, or He averts an evil from him by it."
قَارِظٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي أُمِّي أُمُّ الْحَكَمِ بِنْتُ قَارِظٍ، أَنَّهَا أَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ تَسْأَلُهُ، قَالَتْ: إِنَّهُ يُصِيبَنِي مَا يُصِيبُ النِّسَاءَ مِنَ الْعِلَّةِ فِي رَمَضَانَ، فَمَا تَرَى فِي قَضَائِهِ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: أَحْصِي الْعِدَّةَ وَصُومِي كَيْفَ شِئْتِ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ بِكُمُ الْيُسْرَ وَلا يُرِيدُ بِكُمُ الْعُسْرَ. وَرُوِيَ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قوله: وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ
١٦٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، قَوْلُهُ: وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ عِدَّةَ رَمَضَانَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
١٦٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ثنا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَى مَا هَدَاكُمْ قَالَ: التَّكْبِيرُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي، عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ
١٦٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، أَنْبَأَ جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ السِّجِسْتَانِيِّ، عن الصلب بْنِ الْحَكِيمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَقَرِيبٌ رَبُّنَا فَنُنَاجِيهِ، أَمْ بَعِيدٌ فَنُنَادِيهِ؟
فَسَكَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ: وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي، عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُواْ بِي، إِذَا أَمَرْتُهُمْ أَنْ يَدْعُونِي، فَدَعَوْنِي، اسْتَجَبْتُ لَهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ
١٦٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي، عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبٌ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ قَالَ: لَيْسَ مِنْ عَبْدٍ مُؤْمِنٍ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ إلا استجاب له، فإن كان الذين يَدْعُو بِهِ هُوَ لَهُ رِزْقٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ رِزْقٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا، ذَخَرَهُ لَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، أَوْ دَفَعَ، عَنْهُ بِهِ مَكْرُوهًا.
