Those who interpreted it as being prevented only by an enemy and no one else:

1768 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Amr—meaning ibn Dinar—from Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn Abi Najih, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: There is no 'ihsar' (being prevented) except the 'ihsar' by an enemy. As for the one who is struck by illness, pain, or getting lost, there is nothing upon him. Allah only said: "But if you are secure (fa-idha amintum)," and security is not the state of being prevented. It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, Tawus, al-Zuhri, and Zayd ibn Aslam similarly.

His saying: "Then whatever is easily available of the sacrificial animal"

1769 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Hafs ibn Ghiyat narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Muhammad, from his father, from 'Ali, who said: "Then whatever is easily available of the sacrificial animal" means a sheep.

1770 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Habib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Then whatever is easily available of the sacrificial animal" means a sheep. It was narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah, 'Ata', al-Hasan, al-Nakha'i, Muhammad ibn 'Ali, Mujahid, al-Sha'bi, Tawus, al-Dahhak, Qatadah, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan similarly.

And those who interpreted it as being from the eight kinds [of livestock]:

1771 - Ja'far ibn al-Nadr ibn Hammad al-Wasiti narrated to us, Ishaq al-Azraq narrated to us, from Sharik, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Nu'man ibn Malik, from Ibn 'Abbas, that he said: The sacrificial animal (hady) is from the eight kinds: camels, cattle, goats, and sheep.

1772 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from al-Qasim, from 'A'ishah and Ibn 'Umar: That they did not consider the "easily available sacrificial animal" to be anything but camels or cattle. It was narrated from Salim, al-Qasim, 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, and Sa'id ibn Jubayr similarly.
