His saying: "Whoever imposes Hajj upon himself during them"
1820 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Dinar, from Ibn 'Umar regarding His saying: "Whoever imposes Hajj upon himself during them," he said: Whoever enters into the state of Ihram during them.
1821 - Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Malik al-Susi narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj said: 'Umar ibn 'Ata' reported to me, from 'Ikrimah, the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, from Ibn 'Abbas, that he said: "Whoever imposes Hajj upon himself during them," [it means] it is not appropriate to utter the Talbiyah for Hajj and then remain in the land.
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud, 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas, 'Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, Mujahid, 'Ata', Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, al-Dahhak, 'Ikrimah, Sufyan al-Thawri, Qatadah, al-Zuhri, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan something similar.
And Tawus and al-Qasim ibn Muhammad said: It is the Talbiyah.
[His saying: No Rafath]
[The first perspective]
1822 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by way of reading, Ibn Wahb reported, Yunus ibn Yazid reported to us, that Nafi' informed him that 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar used to say: "Al-Rafath is intercourse with women, and speaking about that, [both] men and women, when they mention that with their tongues."
1823 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la and Ahmad ibn Shayban al-Ramli informed us, they said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, and he was asked about al-Rafath in the saying of Allah: "No Rafath," he said: It is alluding to mention of intercourse, and it is in the speech of the Arabs, and it is the lowest form of Rafath.
It was narrated from Ibn al-Zubayr, from 'Ata' and Tawus something similar.
[The second perspective]
1824 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from 'Asim, from Bakr ibn 'Abd Allah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Indeed, Allah is Generous and uses metonymy (kinayah) for what He wills, and indeed al-Rafath is intercourse.
It was narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah, Mujahid, 'Ikrimah, al-Dahhak, 'Ata', Sa'id ibn Jubayr, 'Ata' ibn Yasar, Ibrahim, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, al-Hasan, al-Zuhri, Qatadah, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, Makhul, 'Atiyyah, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, 'Abd al-Karim, Malik ibn Anas, and al-Suddi something similar.
