253 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa al-Ansari narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: His saying "beneath which rivers flow" means: their dwellings, with their rivers flowing beneath them.
254 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from 'Abd Allah ibn Murrah, from Masruq, who said: 'Abd Allah said: The rivers of Paradise gush from a mountain of musk.
His saying: "Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom"

255 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah—meaning "Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom"—he said: Whenever they are brought something from it, then brought something else, they say: "This is what we were provided with before."
The Second Aspect:
256 - Al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Hawdhah narrated to us, 'Awf narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Zayd, who said: "Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom"—he said: Meaning by it what they were provided with of the fruit of the world before Paradise.
His saying, the Exalted: "They will say, 'This is what we were provided with before'"
257 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: As for his saying "This is what we were provided with before," they were brought a date in Paradise, and when they looked at it, they said: "This is what we were provided with before" in the world.
258 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, 'This is what we were provided with before'"—they are saying: How much it resembles it; he says: from every type, a like.
259 - Abu 'Abd Allah al-Tihrani narrated to me, Hafs ibn 'Umar al-'Adani informed us, al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah regarding His saying "This is what we were provided with before," he said: Its meaning is: like that which was yesterday. It has also been narrated from Qatadah and al-Rabi' ibn Anas something similar.
His saying: "And they will be given it in likeness"
260 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Zabyan, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: There is nothing in Paradise that resembles what is in the world except the names.
