the Great, so they concerned themselves with the study of the Qur’an. They came to know its interpretation, its revelation, the circumstances of its revelation, its virtues, and its rulings, and they clarified the unequivocal (muhkam) from the ambiguous (mutashabih) and the abrogating (nasikh) from the abrogated (mansukh).
Among these individuals is Imam Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hatim al-Razi, who collected in his Tafsir the statements of the predecessors (Salaf) supported by their chains of narration (asnad), with precision and integrity in the transmission, through his selection of the most authentic chains, confining himself to pure transmission devoid of any personal opinion or preference. This is a great distinction of this unique Tafsir.
In conclusion, I pray to Allah, the High, the Great, to have mercy on the author of this Tafsir and to grant him a place in His spacious gardens; indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
