His saying: "Fulfill My covenant."
440 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Fulfill My covenant," he says: I will be pleased with you and admit you into Paradise.
441 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "Fulfill My covenant," meaning I will fulfill for you what I promised you regarding believing in him and following him, so He removed from you the burden (is'r) and the shackles that were upon your necks due to your sins which you had committed. It has been narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah, al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas something similar to what we mentioned from al-Dahhak from Ibn 'Abbas.
His saying: "And of Me alone be afraid."
442 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu Ghassan informed us, Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, he said, in what Muhammad ibn Abi Muhammad narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah or Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And of Me alone be afraid," that I might send upon you what I sent upon those before you from your ancestors in terms of the punishments that you have already known, such as transformation (maskh) and others.
443 - 'Isam ibn al-Rawwad al-'Asqalani narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, "And of Me alone be afraid," meaning: fear Me. Abu Muhammad said: And it is likewise narrated from al-Suddi, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and Qatadah.
His saying: "And believe in what I have sent down, confirming that which is with you."
[The First Aspect]
444 - Through the same chain from Abu al-'Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And believe in what I have sent down, confirming that which is with you," he says: O assembly of the People of the Book, believe in what I have sent down, confirming that which is with you. He says: Because they find Muhammad written with them in the Torah and the Gospel.
The Second Aspect:
445 - al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih
قَوْلُهُ: أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ
٤٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي
قَوْلُهُ: أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ يَقُولُ: أَرْضَى عَنْكُمْ وَأُدْخِلُكُمُ الْجَنَّةَ.
٤٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أُوفِ بِعَهْدِكُمْ أُنْجِزُ لَكُمْ مَا وَعَدْتُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِتَصْدِيقِهِ وَاتِّبَاعِهِ، فَوَضَعَ عَنْكُمْ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنَ الإِصْرِ وَالأَغْلالِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ فِي أَعْنَاقِكُمْ بِذُنُوبِكُمُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ مِنْ إِحْدَاثِكُمْ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ وَالضَّحَّاكِ وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ نَحْوُ مَا ذَكَرْنَا عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ
٤٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا سَلَمَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ أَوْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ:
وَإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ أَنْ أُنْزِلَ بِكُمْ مَا أَنْزَلْتُ بِمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ مِنْ آبَائِكُمْ مِنَ النِّقْمَاتِ الَّتِي قَدْ عَرَفْتُمْ مِنَ الْمَسْخِ وَغَيْرِهِ.
٤٤٣ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ الرَّوَّادِ العسقلاني ثنا آدم أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ وِإِيَّايَ فَارْهَبُونِ فَاخْشَوْنِ. قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَكَذَا رُوِيَ عَنِ السدى والربيع ابن أَنَسٍ وَقَتَادَةَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَآمِنُوا بِمَا أَنْزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًا لما معكم

٤٤٤ - بِهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ فِي قَوْلُهُ: وَآمِنُوا بِمَا أَنْزَلْتُ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا مَعَكُمْ يَقُولُ:
يَا مَعْشَرَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ، آمِنُوا بِمَا أنزلت مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا مَعَكُمْ. يَقُولُ: لأَنَّهُمْ يَجِدُونَ مُحَمَّدًا مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ.
