18370 - From Ibn Mas'ud regarding His saying: "Then increase him a double punishment in the Fire," he said: "Venomous creatures and snakes."

His saying, the Exalted: "I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly (al-mala' al-a'la)."

18371 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly," he said: "The angels, when they were consulted regarding the creation of Adam, peace be upon him, and they disputed concerning him: They said, 'Will You place upon the earth one who causes corruption therein?'"

18372 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding His saying: "I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly when they disputed," he said: "It is the dispute regarding the matter of Adam: 'Will You place therein one who causes corruption in it?'"

18373 - From Adi ibn Hatim, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When I was taken by night to the seventh heaven, He said: 'O Muhammad, about what does the exalted assembly dispute?'" Then he mentioned the hadith.

His saying, the Exalted: "Say, I do not ask of you."

18374 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, regarding the verse, he said: "Say, O Muhammad, I do not ask of you for what I invite you to, any reward or worldly gain."
