الترجمة · EN

to the Quraysh: "There is no one worshiped besides Allah who possesses any good." They said: "Do you not claim that Jesus was a prophet and a righteous servant among the servants of Allah, and the Christians have worshiped him? If you are truthful, then he is like their deities." So Allah revealed: "And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud at it." He said: "They clamor." "And indeed, it [i.e., Jesus] is a sign for the Hour." He said: "It is the emergence of Jesus, son of Mary, just before the Day of Resurrection." (1)

18517 - From Abu Umamah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "No nation went astray after its prophet except that they were granted the ability to argue." Then he recited: "They did not present it to you except for [the sake of] argument."

18518 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, regarding His saying: "And indeed, it is a sign for the Hour," he said: "The emergence of Jesus before the Day of Resurrection." (2)

His saying, the Almighty: "Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous."

18519 - Isra'il informed me, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Harith, from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him: "Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous." He said: "[Imagine] two believing friends and two disbelieving friends. One of the believers passes away and is given glad tidings of Paradise, so he remembers his friend and says: 'O Allah, such-and-such person is my friend; he used to command me to obey You and Your Messenger, command me to do good, forbid me from evil, and inform me that I would meet You. O Allah, do not let him go astray after me until You show him the like of what You showed me, and be pleased with him as You were pleased with me.' It is said to him: 'Go, for if you knew what he has with Me, you would have laughed much and wept little.'"

He said: "Then the other one dies, and their souls meet. It is said: 'Let each of you praise his companion.' Each of them says to his companion: 'What a good brother, what a good associate, and what a good close friend!' And when one of the two disbelievers dies and is given glad tidings of the Fire, he remembers his friend and says: 'O Allah, such-and-such person is my friend; he used to command me to disobey You and Your Messenger, command me to do evil, forbid me from good, and inform me that I would not meet You. O Allah, do not guide him after me until You show him the like of what You showed me and be displeased with him as You were displeased with me.' He said: "Then the other disbeliever dies, and their souls are gathered, and it is said: 'Let each of you praise his companion.' Each of them says to his companion: 'What an evil brother, what an evil associate, and what an evil close friend!'" (3)

His saying, the Almighty: "You will be honored [tuhbarun]."

18520 - From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, regarding His saying: "You will be honored [tuhbarun]," he said: "You will be treated with honor." (4)
