18989 - From Ibn ʿAbbās (may God be pleased with them both) regarding His saying: "In a day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years," he said: "If you were to estimate it, it would be fifty thousand years of your days." He said: "Meaning the Day of Resurrection."

His saying, the Almighty: "When evil touches him, he is fretful."

18990 - From ʿIkrimah (may God be pleased with him), he said: "Ibn ʿAbbās (may God be pleased with them both) was asked about al-halaʿ (anxiety/impatience), and he said: 'It is as God said: "When evil touches him, he is fretful, and when good touches him, he is withholding." That is the halūʿ (fretful/impatient one).'

His saying, the Almighty: "Those who are constant in their prayer."

18991 - From ʿUqbah ibn ʿĀmir (may God be pleased with him) regarding His saying: "Those who are constant in their prayer," he said: "They are those who, when they pray, do not look around."

His saying, the Almighty: "But nay, I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests."

18992 - From Ibn ʿAbbās regarding His saying: "But nay, I swear by the Lord of the Easts and the Wests," he said: "For the sun, there is every day a rising point from which it rises and a setting point in which it sets, other than its rising point of yesterday, and other than its setting point of yesterday."
