His statement, the Almighty: "And the promised Day, and the witness and the witnessed."
19204 - From Abū Hurayrah, he said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "The promised day is the Day of Resurrection, the witnessed day is the day of ʿArafah, and the witness is the day of Friday. The sun has not risen or set on a day better than it. Within it is an hour in which no believing servant agrees with it—praying to Allah for good—without Allah responding to him, and he does not seek refuge from anything without Allah granting him refuge from it."
19205 - My father narrated to us, Abū Nuʿaym al-Faḍl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, Sufyān narrated to us, from Abū Yaḥyā al-Qannāt, from Mujāhid, from Ibn ʿAbbās regarding "and the witness and the witnessed," he said: "The witness is the human, and the witnessed is the day of Friday."
19206 - From ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, he said: "The prophet of the People of the Trench was an Abyssinian."
His statement, the Almighty: "Cursed were the companions of the trench."
He said: "They are the Abyssinians."
19208 - My father narrated to us, Abū al-Yamān narrated to us, Ṣafwān informed us, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Jubayr, he said: "The trench was in Yemen in the time of Tubbaʿ; and in Constantinople in the time of Constantine when the Christians diverted their qibla away from the religion of the Messiah and monotheism, so they constructed a kiln, and the Christians who were upon the religion of the Messiah and monotheism cast themselves into it. And in Iraq, in the land of Babylon, was Nebuchadnezzar, who set up the idol and ordered the people to prostrate to it, so Daniel and his two companions—ʿUzayryā and Mīshāʾīl—refused, so he lit a kiln for them and cast firewood and fire into it, then he threw them both into it, so Allah made it coolness and safety for them and saved them from it, and He cast into it those who transgressed against him—and they were nine men—and the fire consumed them."
