374: 1974: They believed: 1: Al-Qurtubi said: This is an allusion to the disbelievers of Quraysh, for they used to aggrandize their own state in this world, rejoice in it, and mock those who followed Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
375: 1976: Above them: 1: It was narrated from 'Ali that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever humiliates a believing man or woman or belittles them for their poverty or lack of means, Allah will expose him on the Day of Resurrection and then disgrace him. Whoever slanders a believing man or woman, or says about them what is not in them, Allah the Almighty will place him upon a mound of fire on the Day of Resurrection until he emerges from what he said about them. The greatness of the believer is greater to Allah and more noble to Him than a close-ranking angel. There is nothing dearer to Allah than a believing man who repents or a believing woman who repents. The believing man is recognized in the heavens just as a man recognizes his family and children."
