It was narrated by Ibn Kathir (1/448), al-Manthur (1/320), al-Qurtubi (3/260), and al-Tabari (2/404).

Ibn Kathir said: "Strange and weak."

: 2541: Its people: 2: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/114).

483: 2553: Moses: 1: Tafsir Mujahid: 1/114.

: 2554: Virtues: 2: It is established in the Hadith of the Night Journey (al-Isra') when the Prophet (may peace and blessings be upon him) saw the prophets in the heavens according to their varying ranks before Allah the Almighty. If it is asked: How can one reconcile this verse with the hadith established in the Two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) from Abu Hurayrah, who said: A man from the Muslims and a man from the Jews quarreled. The Jew said in an oath he was taking: "No, by Him who chose Moses over all people." The Muslim raised his hand and slapped the face of the Jew and said: "O evil man! Over Muhammad (may peace and blessings be upon him)?" The Jew went to the Prophet and complained about the Muslim. The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not prefer me over the prophets, for the people will fall unconscious on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be the first to recover to find Moses grasping the pillar of the Throne. I do not know if he recovered before me or if he was compensated for the unconsciousness of the Mount. So do not prefer me over the prophets."

Authentic. Agreed upon. Narrated by al-Bukhari (4/194), Muslim in (Al-Fada'il, H/159), Mushkil (1/452), Al-Shifa (1/439), Sharh al-Sunnah (13/204), Al-Nubuwwah (5/492, 493), Al-Kanz (32373), Manahil al-Safa (22/35).
