516: 2732: Obstacle: 1: I say: Many hadiths have been reported forbidding the act of reminding others of one's charity (al-mann). In Sahih Muslim, from the hadith of Shu'bah from Al-A'mash, from Sulayman ibn Mus-hir, from Kharashah ibn al-Hurr, from Abu Dharr who said:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are three whom Allah will not speak to on the Day of Resurrection, nor look at, nor purify, and they shall have a painful punishment: the one who reminds others of what he has given, the one who lets his garment trail (musbil), and the one who sells his merchandise by means of a false oath."

: 2733: Nufayl: 2: His statement: "Ibn Nufayl" appeared in the "original" as "Ibn Fudayl." The former is the correct one, and that is how we have established it.
