517: 2738: And for an obstacle: 1: Authentic. Narrated by Ibn Majah (h/3376), Al-Targhib (3/254, 255, 4/37), Al-Kanz (13199), Al-Fath (10/415), Al-Hilyah (9/254, 3/309), Al-Khatib (11/17), Al-Khafa' (2/529), Ibn Hibban (1381), and Al-Majma' (5/74, 75).

And it was declared authentic by Shaykh Al-Albani. See Al-Sahihah (h/678).

518: 2746: Soil/Dust: 1: Ibn Kathir said: "Its likeness is the likeness of safwan," which is the plural of safwanah. Some say that al-safwan is also used in the singular, and it refers to the al-safa (smooth rock).

: 2748: The severe: 2: Tafsir Al-Qurtubi: (2/1121).

: 2749: Hard/Smooth: 3: Al-Qurtubi said: "Salda" (hard/smooth), the sald is that which is smooth among stones.

519: 2755: Themselves: 1: In the authentic hadith which is agreed upon as authentic:

"Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and anticipation of reward," meaning that you believe that Allah has ordained it, and you anticipate its reward from Allah.
