A group, including Mujahid, said: Al-tall is the dew. Ibn Atiyyah said: This is metaphorical and an analogy. In Al-Sihah: Al-tall is the weakest rain, and the plural is al-tilal. You say: "Tallat al-ard" (the earth was rained upon by a light rain) and "atallaha al-nad" (the dew moistened it), so it is "matlulah" (moistened).
