From Zayd ibn Khalid, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the best of witnesses? The one who brings his testimony before he is asked for it."

Narrated by Muslim in (Al-Aqdiya, h/19), Abu Dawud in (Al-Aqdiya, Chapter "13"), Al-Tirmidhi (h/2295), who classified it as hasan. Also in Al-Mishkat (3766), Al-Tabarani (5/265), Al-Hilya (6/347), Talkhis (4/204), Ibn Kathir (1/498), Al-Bayhaqi (10/156), 'Abd al-Razzaq (15557), and Sharh al-Sunnah (10/138).

565: 3011: You doubt: 1: Al-Qurtubi said regarding His saying: "You doubt": meaning, you feel uncertain.

: 3014: Present: 2: Ibn Kathir said regarding His saying: "Unless it be a present trade": meaning, if the sale is done in the present, hand-to-hand, then there is no harm in not writing it down, due to the benefit of avoiding the trouble of doing so.
