were three hundred and nineteen men. The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) faced the Qiblah, then stretched out his hands and began to call out to his Lord: "O Allah, fulfill for me what You have promised me; O Allah, grant what You have promised me. O Allah, if this band of the people of Islam perishes, You will not be worshipped on earth." He continued calling out to his Lord, stretching out his hands, facing the Qiblah, until his cloak fell from his shoulders. Abu Bakr came to him, took his cloak, and placed it upon his shoulders, then embraced him from behind and said: "O Prophet of Allah, your imploring your Lord is sufficient for you, for He will surely fulfill for you what He has promised you." Then Allah the Almighty revealed: "When you were seeking help of your Lord and He answered you (saying), 'I will help you with a thousand of the angels, each behind the other.'"
