and killing the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right; consuming usury (riba); consuming the wealth of the orphan; fleeing on the day of the march (battle); and slandering chaste, unsuspecting, believing women.'

Narrated by al-Bukhari (4/212, 8/218, 538), Muslim in (Al-Iman, hadith/145), Abu Dawud (2874), al-Bayhaqi (6/284, 8/20, 249, 9/76), Sharh al-Sunnah (1/86), Ithaf (1/219), and Abu 'Awanah (1/55).

: 4886: The laws of inheritance (al-mawarith): 4: Sahih. Narrated by al-Bukhari (hadith/4577).

881: 4892: What remains (ma baqiya): 1: Sahih. Narrated by Abu Dawud in (Al-Fara'id, chapter: What has been reported regarding the inheritance of the direct offspring), and al-Tirmidhi (hadith/2092), who said: 'This is a Sahih hadith; we do not know it except from the hadith of 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, and Sharik also narrated it from 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil.' And [by] Ibn Majah in (Al-Fara'id, chapter: The obligatory shares of the direct offspring).

: 4894: Umm Kujah: 2: In the interpretation of verse number "7", her name is mentioned: "Umm Kahlah".

882: 4896: The greatest (fa-al-akbar): 1: From Abu Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Learn the laws of inheritance and teach them to the people, for it is half of knowledge, it is forgotten, and it is the first thing to be taken away from my Ummah.'

Da'if (weak). Narrated by Ibn Majah (hadith/2719), Al-Fath (12/5), al-Khatib (12/90), al-Darimi (1/73), al-Bayhaqi (6/208), al-Hakim (4/332), Ithaf (2/50), Al-Manthur (2/126), Al-Mughni 'an Haml al-Asfar (1/95), Ibn Kathir (2/196), and al-Qurtubi.
