: 5741: Two factions: 3: 'Adi ibn Thabit said: 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid informed me, from Zayd ibn Thabit, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, set out for Uhud, but some people who had gone out with him returned. The companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, were divided into two groups: one group saying, "We shall kill them," and the other group saying, "No, they are believers." Then Allah the Almighty revealed: "Then what is the matter with you that you are divided into two factions regarding the hypocrites?" The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Indeed, it (Medina) is pure, and it expels the impurity just as the bellows expels the dross of iron."
