1582: 8337: Ramadan: 1: Narrated by Ahmad (4/107) and al-Qurtubi (16/126).

: 8341: Their Lord: 2: Imam Ahmad said: Abu 'Amir narrated to us, he is: al-'Aqadi 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr, narrated to us Salman, he is: Ibn Bilal, from Rabi'ah ibn Abi 'Abd al-Rahman, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn Sa'id, from Abu Humayd and Abu Usayd—may Allah be pleased with them both—that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If you hear a Hadith from me that your hearts recognize, your hairs soften to it, and you perceive it as being near to you, then I am the most worthy of it among you. And if you hear a Hadith from me that your hearts deny, your hairs and skins recoil from it, and you perceive it as being far from you, then I am the furthest of you from it."

It was narrated by Ahmad (5/425, 3/497), Ibn Hibban (92), Tajrid (186), Ibn Kathir (3/486, 4/275), al-Fawa'id (281), Tadhkirah (28), and al-Majma' (1/149), and he attributed it to Ahmad and al-Bazzar, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

1583: 8344: Allah: 1: Some scholars said: Everything that Allah, the Exalted, has permitted of food is wholesome (tayyib) and beneficial for the body and the religion, and everything He has forbidden is foul (khabith) and harmful to the body and the religion. Those who hold the view of rational goodness and evil (al-tahsin wa al-taqbih al-'aqliyyayn) have held fast to this noble verse, and it has been answered with arguments that this place does not permit to elaborate. Likewise, it was used as evidence by those scholars who held the view that the reference point for the permissibility of foods not explicitly stated as permitted or forbidden lies in what the Arabs found pleasant during their time of ease, and likewise in the aspect of prohibition, in what they found foul.
