"Knowledge is of two types: knowledge in the heart, and that is beneficial knowledge; and knowledge on the tongue, and that is Allah, the Exalted's proof against the son of Adam."

: 8574: they wrong: 2: Ibn Kathir said in the interpretation of this verse: The Exalted says: "Evil is the example of the people who denied Our signs," meaning their example is evil because they were compared to dogs that have no concern except in obtaining food or satisfying a desire. So whoever departs from the realm of knowledge and guidance, turns to his own self-desire, and follows his caprice, becomes like the dog. An evil example is his example. This is established in the Sahih that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "It is not for us to be an example of evil; the one who takes back his gift is like a dog that returns to its vomit."
