(of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace)—meaning on the night of 'Aqabah—'Condition for your Lord and for yourself whatever you wish.' He said: 'I condition for my Lord that you worship Him and do not associate anything with Him. And I condition for myself that you protect me as you protect yourselves and your wealth.'

The Campaign (Al-Ghazw): 1: I say: For this reason, it is mentioned in the two Sahih collections: 'Allah has guaranteed for one who goes out in His path—driven by nothing but jihad in My path and belief in My messengers—that He will either admit him to Paradise if He takes his soul, or return him to his home from which he departed, having attained what he attained of reward or spoils.'
