as a truthful person. And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A man continues to lie and strives for lying until he is recorded before Allah as a liar."

9109: 10112. The doers of good (al-muhsinin): 1: Al-Qurtubi said in the interpretation of this verse: That is, killing and defeat. Its root is from 'niltu al-shay'a analu', meaning: I attained it. Al-Kisa'i said: It is from their saying 'amrun munilun' (a matter from which benefit is obtained), and it is not from 'al-tanawul' (taking); rather, 'al-tanawul' comes from 'niltuhu al-'atiyyah' (I gave him the gift).
: 10114. They do (ya'malun): 2: Some scholars used this verse as evidence that spoils of war are deserved by merely joining the expedition and being present in the lands of the enemy; if one dies after that, he is entitled to his share. This is the opinion of Ashhab, 'Abd al-Malik, and one of the two opinions of al-Shafi'i. Malik and Ibn al-Qasim said: He gets nothing, because Allah, the Exalted, only mentioned the reward in this verse and did not mention the share.
