were inanimate, and you are the Prophet of Allah, and He makes the inanimate speak for you and to you; based on this, there is no need for elliptical suppression.

2185: 11877: Peace (al-salam): 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/487). Ibn Kathir said: "It is not authentic."

: 11879: O anxiety (ya jaza'an): 2: Tafsir Mujahid: (1/319).

2186: 11882: It did not reach you (lam tanalka): 1: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/487-488). Ibn Kathir said: "This is mursal (a narration with a missing link in the chain) and contains a rejection, for the authentic [view] is that he is the sacrifice (al-dhabih)."

: 11892: Remember Joseph (tadhakkur Yusuf): 2: The previous source.

2188: 11900: Those who perish (al-halikin): 1: Al-Qurtubi said in the interpretation of this verse: Meaning, the dead, and this is the statement of all. Their purpose was to forbid Jacob from weeping and sadness out of pity for him, even though they were the cause of that.

: 11901: Regarding what you complain (bima tashku): 2: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/488). Ibn Kathir said: "This is a strange (gharib) hadith containing a rejection."

2189: 11905: My concern (hammi): 1: Tafsir Al-Thawri: (p. 146).

: 11908: And his brother (wa akhihi): 2: Ibn Kathir said in the interpretation of this verse: Allah the Exalted says, informing about Jacob—peace be upon him—that he urged his sons to go forth in the land to seek news of Joseph and his brother Benjamin. Seeking information (tahassus) is done for good, while spying (tajassus) is done for evil. He incited them, gave them glad tidings, and commanded them not to despair of the mercy of Allah, meaning: do not cut off their hope and expectation from Allah regarding what they seek and intend, for hope is not cut off, and "none despair of the mercy of Allah except the disbelieving people."
