the Exalted, informing of the polytheists, that they say out of disbelief and stubbornness: "If only a sign would come to us from his Lord," just as the ancients were sent. They were as obstinate toward him as to demand that he turn the Safa (hill) into gold for them, remove the mountains from them, and place meadows and rivers in their stead.

2226: 12161: Months: 1: In the two Sahihs, it is narrated from Ibn Mas'ud who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, the creation of one of you is gathered in the womb of his mother for forty days, then he becomes a clot for a similar duration, then he becomes a lump of flesh for a similar duration, then Allah sends an angel who is commanded with four words: to write his provision, his lifespan, his deeds, and whether he is wretched or blessed."

Narrated by al-Bukhari (4/161, 9/165), Muslim in (al-Qadar, hadith 1), Abu Dawud in (al-Sunnah, Chapter 16), 'Abd al-Razzaq (20093), al-Hilyah (7/365, 8/387, 10/170), Ibn Kathir (1/419, 4/357, 5/391), Talkhis (2/115), al-Khatib (9/60), and Ibn 'Asakir in "al-Tarikh" (4/349).

He sent to her saying: "To Allah belongs what He took and to Him belongs what He gave, and everything with Him has a specified term; so order her to be patient and seek reward."
