: 13340: The polytheists (al-mushrikin): 5: Al-Manthur: (5/316).

: 13341: A storm of stones (hasiban): 6: His saying, the Almighty: "Or send against you a storm of stones (hasiban)" means: a severe wind, and it is that which throws gravel (hasba'), which is small pebbles. This was stated by Abu Ubaydah and al-Qutaybi.

Qatadah said: It means stones from the sky that pelt them, just as was done to the people of Lot.

It is said of the cloud that throws hail: hasib, and of the wind that carries dust and gravel: hasib and hasbah, meaning: scattering.
