1278: 7206: From it: 1: Tafsir 'Abd al-Razzaq: (1/199).

: 7207: About him: 2: Tafsir Ibn Kathir: (2/127).

: 7208: They distance themselves from it: 3: The chroniclers of the Prophetic biography (ahl al-siyar) narrated: The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went out to the Kaaba one day and intended to pray. When he began the prayer, Abu Jahl—may Allah curse him—said: "Who will go to this man and ruin his prayer for him?" Ibn al-Ziba'ra stood up, took some dung and blood, and smeared it on the face of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) finished his prayer, then came to his uncle Abu Talib and said: "O uncle, do you not see what has been done to me?" Abu Talib asked: "Who did this to you?" The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) replied: "'Abd Allah ibn al-Ziba'ra." Abu Talib stood up, placed his sword on his shoulder, and walked with him until he reached the people. When the people saw that Abu Talib had approached, they began to rise, but Abu Talib said: "By Allah, if a man stands up, I will strike him with my sword." So they sat down until he drew near to them and said: "O my nephew, who is the one who did this to you?" He replied: "'Abd Allah ibn al-Ziba'ra." Abu Talib took some dung and blood and smeared it on their faces, beards, and clothes, and rebuked them severely. Thus, this verse was revealed: "And they prohibit [others] from it and distance themselves from it."

1279: 7213: Their deeds: 1: Tafsir al-Thawri: (p. 107).

: 7217: Are liars: 2: Al-Qurtubi said in the interpretation of the words of the Almighty: "And they are indeed liars," as an announcement concerning them and a narrative of the state they were in during their worldly life, consisting of their denial of the Messengers and their rejection of the Resurrection.

1280: 7222: You have attributed me: 1: Al-Targhib (4/406), al-Manthur (5/267), and al-Humaydi (1178).
