It has also been said: The horrors of the Day of Resurrection might befall them, but their ultimate destination is security. This is not impossible, for your saying, "Zayd is in the people," means with the people. It was also said: It is according to its literal meaning, i.e., enter into their group. The one who says [it]—it is said: It is Allah—Mighty and Majestic is He—meaning: Allah said: Enter. It was also said: It is Malik, the guardian of the Fire.

: 8456: The punishment (al-'adhab): 2: The previous source.

1477: 8460: The sky (al-sama'): 1: It was narrated from al-Bara': "That the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) mentioned the seizing of the soul of the wicked person, and that it ascends to the sky; so they ascend with it, and it does not pass by a gathering of the angels but they say: 'What is this foul soul?' They say: 'So-and-so,' by the ugliest of his names by which he was called in the world, until they reach the sky with it and they request the opening of its gate for him, but it is not opened for him. Then the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) read: 'The gates of heaven will not be opened for them.'" (Tafsir Ibn Kathir: 2/213).
