He found a well, climbed down into it, drank from it, and then exited. Suddenly, there was a dog eating the mud out of thirst. The man said: 'This dog has reached the same state of thirst that I reached.' So he filled his leather sock (khuff), held it in his mouth, climbed up, and gave the dog a drink. Allah appreciated this from him." Narrated by al-Bukhari (3/146).

We were told by Hajjaj, we were told by Ibn Jurayj, I was informed by Isma'il ibn Umayyah, from Ayyub ibn Khalid, from 'Abd Allah ibn Rafi', the freed slave of Umm Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took my hand and said:
"Allah created the soil on Saturday, He created the mountains therein on Sunday, He created the trees therein on Monday, He created the hateful/distressing things (al-makruh) on Tuesday, He created the light on Wednesday, He spread the creatures therein on Thursday, and He created Adam after 'Asr on Friday, the last of creation, in the final hour of the hours of Friday, between 'Asr and the night."

حدثنا حجاج، حدثنا ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ:
«خَلَقَ اللَّهُ التُّرْبَةَ يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ، وَخَلَقَ الْجِبَالَ فِيهَا يَوْمَ الأَحَدِ، وَخَلَقَ الشَّجَرَ فِيهَا يَوْمَ الاثْنَيْنِ، وَخَلَقَ الْمَكْرُوهَ يَوْمَ الثُّلاثَاءِ، وَخَلَقَ النُّورَ يَوْمَ الأَرْبِعَاءِ، وَبَثَّ فِيهَا الدَّوَابَّ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ، وَخَلَقَ آدَمَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ يوم الجمعة آخر الخلق فِي آخِرِ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ سَاعَاتِ الْجُمُعَةِ فِيمَا بين العصر إلى الليل» .
