: 18405: And the earth: 3: His statement (Exalted is He): "To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth." Its singular is miqlid. It is said: miqlad, and the most commonly used is iqlid. The maqalid are the keys. Related from Ibn Abbas and others. Al-Suddi said: "The treasures of the heavens and the earth." Others said: "The treasures of the heavens are the rain, and the treasures of the earth are vegetation." There is another linguistic form: aqalid, and according to this, its singular is iqlid. Al-Jawhari said: "The iqlid is the key." The miqlad is a key like a sickle, sometimes used to cut fodder as fodder is cut when made into ropes, meaning it is twisted, and the plural is maqalid.
