: 18509: From them: 6: Regarding His saying, the Almighty: "So when they angered Us, We took retribution from them," Al-Dahhak narrated from Ibn 'Abbas: meaning they enraged us and angered us. 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah narrated from him: meaning they provoked our displeasure. Al-Mawardi said: "Their meanings are different; the difference between them is that displeasure (sakhat) is the outward expression of aversion, while anger (ghadab) is the desire for retribution."
