: 13885: Lean (dhamir): 2: Ibn Kathir said in his Tafsir of this verse: From this verse, the scholars who held the view that performing Hajj on foot, for one who is capable of it, is better than performing it riding, derive their position, because He mentioned them first in the recitation, which indicates concern for them, the strength of their determination, and the intensity of their resolve. Regarding "they will come to you on foot (rijalan)," the position held by the majority is that performing Hajj while riding is better, following the example of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for he performed Hajj while riding despite his perfect strength, peace be upon him.
