The root of the word "mansakan" (rite) in the speech of the Arabs is: the place that a person frequents and returns to, whether for good or evil. He said: That is why the rites of Hajj are called by this name, due to people returning to them and remaining devoted to them. If it is as he said: that the intent behind "for every nation We have appointed a rite" is that We have appointed a prophet for every nation, then the intent behind His saying: "So do not let them dispute with you in the matter" would be: these polytheists. However, if the intent is: for every nation We have appointed a rite as a decree of predestination.
