2609: 14658: In it: 1: It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah—may Allah be pleased with him—that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Whoever goes to the mosque or returns from it, Allah prepares for him a lodging in Paradise every time he goes or returns."

Narrated by al-Bayhaqi (3/62), Abu 'Awanah (1/378), Ahmad (2/509), al-Hakim (1/91, 212), Sharh al-Sunnah (2/352), al-Kanz (20238), and al-Mughni 'an Haml al-Asfar (4/359).

: 14662: Suppressing (their anger): 2: Surah Ghafir, verse: 18.

2610: 14663: People: 1: Narrated by al-Hakim (2/399), who said: "This is a hadith with a sound chain of transmission." Al-Dhahabi agreed with him. Also in Ibn Kathir (6/75, 366) and Matalib (4627).

: 14667: In a flat expanse (qa'): 2: His saying, the Almighty: "The flat expanse (al-qi'ah)" is the plural of "al-qa'" (flat land), just as "jirah" is the plural of "jar" (neighbor). Al-Harawi said this. Abu 'Ubaydah said: "Qi'ah" and "qa'" mean the same thing, and this was narrated by al-Nahhas. The "qa'" is that which is spread out and vast from the land and contains no vegetation; in it, the mirage occurs. The origin of the "qa'" is the low-lying place where water settles, and its plural is "qi'an."

2611: 14669: In a flat expanse (qa'): 1: I say: The phenomenon of the mirage is a natural occurrence that happens in the desert as a result of rising temperatures in the summer season. The grains of sand heat up, and consequently, the air touching them heats up and its density decreases, causing it to rise upwards. Cold air replaces it, and the phenomenon of light refraction occurs. Thus, the eye is in a medium of higher optical density, and the visible object is in a medium of lower optical density. Consequently, imaginary expanses of water occur as a result of the refraction of light, so when a person approaches them, he does not find them to be water.
