[The third interpretation]
2710 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim b. Muhammad b. 'Ar'arah reported to us, Mu'adh b. Hisham reported to us, my father reported to us, from 'Amr b. Malik, from Abu al-Jawza', regarding "and cut them [so that they might incline] to you" (fa-surhunna), he said: "He taught them until, when he called them, they came to him. Then he cut them into pieces, and called them, and they came to him just as they used to come to him before they were cut."
2711 - My father narrated to me, Nasr b. 'Ali reported to us, Mu'tamir informed us, from his father, from 'Ata' b. al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And cut them [so that they might incline] to you" (fa-surhunna ilayka), he said: "It is in Nabataean: sir bihi, meaning: cut them into pieces."
2712 - Abu Bakr b. Abi Musa narrated to us, 'Abdullah b. Waddah reported to us, Yahya b. Yaman narrated to me, from Ash'ath b. Ishaq, from Ja'far b. Abi al-Mughirah, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding "and cut them [so that they might incline] to you" (fa-surhunna ilayka), he said: "The wing of this one beside the head of that one, and the head of this one beside the wing of that one."
2713 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Muhammad b. 'Utarid al-Kindi reported to us, from al-Muthanna, from Mujahid, regarding "and cut them [so that they might incline] to you" (fa-surhunna ilayka), he said: "Pluck them and tear them apart."
2714 - al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "So take four of the birds, and cut them [so that they might incline] to you," he said: "'And cut them' (fa-surhunna), meaning: tear them apart. He was commanded to mix the blood with the blood, and the feathers with the feathers, then place on every mountain a portion of them."
[The fourth interpretation]
al-Hasan b. Muhammad b. al-Sabah mentioned, Hajjaj b. Muhammad reported to us, from Ibn Jurayj, who said: I asked 'Ata' about His saying: "and cut them [so that they might incline] to you" (fa-surhunna ilayka), he said: "Bring them close to you."
His saying: "Then place on every mountain a portion of them"
2715 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab b. al-Harith reported to us, Bishr b. 'Umarah informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Then place on every mountain a portion of them," he said: "He took two different halves, then came to four mountains, and placed on every mountain two different halves."

وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:
٢٧١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَرْعَرَةَ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَوْزَاءِ فَصُرْهُنَّ قَالَ: عَلَّمَهُنَّ، حَتَّى كَانَ إِذَا دَعَاهُنَّ أَتَينَهُ. ثُمَّ شَقَّقَهُنَّ، فَدَعَاهُنَّ، فَأَتَينَهُ كَمَا كُنَّ يَأْتِينَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُشَقَّقْنَ.
٢٧١١ - حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، أبنا مُعْتَمِرٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عطاء ابْنَ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: فَصُرْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: هِيَ بِالنَّبَطِيَّةِ:
صِرٌّ بِهِ، يَعْنِي: شَقَّقَهُنَّ.
٢٧١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وضاح، حدثني نحيى بْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فَصُرْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: جَنَاحُ ذِهْ، عِنْدَ رَأْسِ ذِهْ، وَرَأْسُ ذِهْ عِنْدَ جَنَاحِ ذِهْ «١» .
٢٧١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُطَارِدٍ الْكِنْدِيُّ، عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «٢»
فَصُرْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ قال: تَنْتِفُهُنَّ وَمَزِّقُهُنَّ.
٢٧١٤ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أبنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: فخذ أربعة من الطير فصرهن إليك قَالَ: فَصُرْهُنَّ فَمَزِّقْهُنَّ. أُمِرَ أَنْ يَخْلِطَ الدِّمَاءَ بِالدِّمَاءِ، وَالرِّيشَ بِالرِّيشِ، ثُمَّ يَجْعَلَ عَلَى كُلِّ جَبَلٍ مِنْهُنَّ جُزْءًا.
وَالْوَجْهُ الرَّابِعُ:
ذَكَرَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ عَطَاءً عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: فَصُرْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ قَالَ: اضْمُمْهُنَّ إِلَيْكَ.
قَوْلُهُ: ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَى كل جبل منهن جُزْءًا
٢٧١٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أبنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلُهُ: ثُمَّ اجْعَلْ عَلَى كُلِّ جَبَلٍ مِنْهُنَّ جُزْءًا قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ نِصْفَيْنِ مُخْتَلِفَيْنِ، ثُمَّ أَتَى أَرْبَعَةَ أَجْبُلٍ، فَجَعَلَ على كل جبل نصفين
