He read: "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty."
2811 - Ahmad b. Mansur b. Rashid al-Marwazi narrated to us, 'Ali b. al-Hasan b. Shaqiq reported to us, al-Husayn b. Waqid informed us, Yazid al-Nahwi reported to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Two [promisings]—meaning from Allah—and two from Satan. "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality," he says: Do not spend your wealth and keep it for yourself, for you will need it.
2812 - It is mentioned from Sufyan, from Mansur, regarding "Satan threatens you with poverty," he said: It is long-term hope.
His saying: "and orders you to immorality"
2813 - Ahmad b. Mansur narrated to us, 'Ali b. al-Hasan reported to us, al-Husayn b. Waqid reported to us, Yazid al-Nahwi reported to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality": [it means] with evil.
2814 - I read to Muhammad b. al-Fadl b. Musa, Muhammad b. 'Ali b. al-Hasan b. Shaqiq reported to us, Muhammad b. Muzahim informed us, from Bukayr b. Ma'ruf, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, regarding His saying: "and orders you to immorality," he means: sins. Abu Muhammad said: It was narrated from Sa'id b. Jubayr similarly.
2815 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth reported to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "to immorality," he says: Adultery. It was narrated from al-Hasan, 'Ikrimah, and al-Suddi similarly.
His saying, Exalted is He: "while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him"
2816 - Ahmad b. Mansur al-Marwazi narrated to us, 'Ali b. al-Hasan reported to us, al-Husayn b. Waqid informed us, Yazid al-Nahwi reported to us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him": regarding these sins.
2817 - My father narrated to us, 'Abdah b. Sulayman reported to us, Ibn al-Mubarak informed us, Sa'id or someone else informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty," he says: Forgiveness for your immorality. Ibn al-Mubarak said: Immorality means sins.

قَرَأَ: الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ وَاللَّهُ يَعِدُكُمْ مَغْفِرَةً مِنْهُ وَفَضْلا «١»
٢٨١١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، نثا علي بن الحسن بن شقيق، ابنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ:
ثِنْتَانِ- يَعْنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ- وَثِنْتَانِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ، وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ يَقُولُ: لَا تُنْفِقْ مَالَكَ وَأَمْسِكْهُ عَلَيْكَ، فَإِنَّكَ تَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ.
٢٨١٢ - ذُكِرَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ قال: طُولُ الأَمَلِ.
قوله: وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ
٢٨١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ بِالسُّوءِ.
٢٨١٤ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مُوسَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ابن شَقِيقٍ، أبنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، قَوْلُهُ:
وَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ يَعْنِي: الْمَعَاصِي. قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَرُوِيَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.
٢٨١٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلُهُ: بِالْفَحْشَاءِ يَقُولُ: الزِّنَا. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَعِكْرِمَةَ وَالسُّدِّيِّ، مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاللَّهُ يَعِدُكُمْ مَغْفِرَةً مِنْهُ
٢٨١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الحسن، ابنا الحسين ابن وَاقِدٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَاللَّهُ يَعِدُكُمْ مَغْفِرَةً مِنْهُ:
عَلَى هَذِهِ الْمَعَاصِي.
٢٨١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سليمان، ابنا ابن المبارك، ابنا سَعِيدٌ أَوْ غَيْرُهُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَاللَّهُ يَعِدُكُمْ مَغْفِرَةً مِنْهُ وَفَضْلا َيَقُولُه: مَغْفِرَةً لِفَحْشَائِكُمْ. قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ: الْفَحْشَاءُ: أَيِ الْمَعَاصِي.
