3619 - My father narrated to us, Ayyub b. 'Urwah al-Kufi—meaning the one who settled in Rayy—narrated to us, al-Muttalib b. Ziyad narrated to us, from Jabir, from Abu Ja'far regarding "And ourselves and yourselves": He said: The Prophet and 'Ali.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then let us pray and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars."
3620 - Al-Hasan b. Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from 'Abd al-Karim al-Jazari, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Had those who were to invoke the curse upon the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gone out [to do so], they would have returned finding neither family nor wealth.
3621 - Al-Husayn b. al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim b. 'Abd Allah al-Harawi narrated to us, Hajjaj informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: Ibn Kathir said to me: As for those who were called to the mutual imprecation (al-ibtihal), they are the Christians.
3622 - My father narrated to us, Azhar b. Hatim and Mahmud b. Ghaylan narrated to us—and the wording is Azhar's—al-Fadl b. Musa narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Anas b. Malik, he said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was at 'Arafat and he was supplicating. He raised his hands, and the rein of the she-camel slipped from his hand, so he reached for it while keeping his hand raised. The Companions of Muhammad said: "This is the invocation (al-ibtihal) and this is the supplication (al-tadarru')."
3623 - 'Ali b. al-Mubarak informed us in what he wrote to me, Zayd b. al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: Ibn Abbas said: "Then let us pray and invoke the curse" means let us strive in supplication.
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, this is the true story."
3624 - Muhammad b. Sa'd al-'Awfi informed me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Indeed, this is the true story," he says: Indeed, this which we have said regarding 'Isa is the truth, and there is no god but Allah, and indeed Allah is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
His saying, the Exalted: "And there is no god but Allah."
The verse and its interpretation have already preceded.

٣٦١٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ الْكُوفِيُّ يَعْنِي: نَزِيلَ الرَّيِّ، ثنا الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ: وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ قَالَ: النَّبِيُّ وَعَلِيٌّ «١»
قَولُهُ تَعَالَى: ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فنجعل لعنت اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ
٣٦٢٠ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «٢» ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَوْ خَرَجَ الَّذِينَ يُبَاهِلُونَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَرَجَعُوا لَا يَجِدُونَ أَهْلا وَلا مَالا «٣» .
٣٦٢١ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْهَرَوِيُّ، أَنْبَأَ حَجَّاجٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قَالَ لِيَ ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ «٤»
: أَمَّا الَّذِينَ دُعُوا إِلَى الابْتِهَالِ فَالنَّصَارَى.
٣٦٢٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ وَالسِّيَاقُ لأَزْهَرَ، ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ وَهُوَ يَدْعُو، وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ فَانْفَلَتَ زِمَامُ النَّاقَةِ مِنْ يَدِهِ، فَتَنَاوَلَهُ فَرَفَعَ يَدَهُ، فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ: هَذَا الابْتِهَالُ وَهَذَا التَّضَرُّعُ.
٣٦٢٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا ابْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ نَجْتَهِدْ.
قَولُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْقَصَصُ الْحَقُّ
٣٦٢٤ - أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّيَ الْحُسَيْنُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلُهُ: إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْقَصَصُ الْحَقُّ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ هَذَا الَّذِي قُلْنَا فِي عِيسَى هُوَ الْحَقُّ، وَمَا مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِلا اللَّهُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
قَولُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
