4626 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, ‘Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, who said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And when Allah took the covenant of those who were given the Scripture," and he said: They are the Jews and the Christians.
And the Third Aspect:
4627 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And when Allah took the covenant of those who were given the Scripture," he said: This is a covenant that Allah took from the people of knowledge.
His saying, the Exalted: "[that] you must make it clear to the people."

4628 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri narrated to us, from Sufyan, Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan; and al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, al-Thawri informed us, from Abu al-Jahhaf, from Muslim al-Batin, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "[that] you must make it clear to the people," he said: Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
And the Second Aspect:
4629 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "[that] you must make it clear to the people," he said: Whoever possesses knowledge, let him teach it to the people.
4630 - ‘Ali ibn al-Mubarak informed us in what he wrote to me, Zayd ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Ibn Abi Mulaykah informed me that ‘Alqamah ibn Abi Waqqas informed him that Marwan said to Rafi‘, his doorman: "Go, O Rafi‘, to Ibn ‘Abbas and ask him about His saying: '[that] you must make it clear to the people.'" He said: Allah, the Majestic in His praise, said to His Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the Torah: "Indeed, Islam is the religion of Allah which He has chosen and obligated upon His servants, and indeed Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; they find him with them in the Torah and the Gospel."
His saying, the Exalted: "and not conceal it."

4631 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Ahmad al-Zubayri narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu al-Jahhaf, from Muslim al-Batin, from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "and not conceal it," he said: Muhammad—and the like was narrated from al-Suddi.

٤٦٢٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحْكَمٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ قَالَ: هُمُ الْيَهُود وَالنَّصَارَى.

٤٦٢٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ، ثنا يَزِيدُ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلَهُ: وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ قَالَ: هَذَا مِيثَاقٌ أَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ.

٤٦٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «١» ، أَنْبَأَ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَحَّافِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قوله: لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

٤٦٢٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنْبَأَ الْعَبَّاسُ، ثنا يَزِيدُ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلَهُ: لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: فَمَنْ عَلِمَ عِلْماً فَلْيُعْلِمْهُ النَّاسَ.
٤٦٣٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا ابْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ أَنَّ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ قَالَ لِرَافِعٍ بَوَّابِهِ: اذْهَبْ يَا رَافِعُ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَسَلْهُ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ:
قَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُهُ لِنَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ: إِنَّ الإِسْلامَ دِينُ اللَّهِ الَّذِي ارْتَضَاهُ افْتَرَضَهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ، وَإِنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَجِدُونَهُ عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ.
قَوْلُهُ تعالى: ولا تكتمونه
