His saying, the Almighty: "is better for you"
5166 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And that you act patiently is better for you," he said: If you act patiently and do not marry a bondswoman, so that your children would not be slaves, then it is better for you.
His saying, the Almighty: "And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful"
5167 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said regarding "And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful," meaning: the sin is forgiven.

5168 - And with the same chain, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said regarding His saying: "Merciful," he said: He shows mercy to the servants despite what is in them.
His saying, the Almighty: "Allah wishes to make clear to you and to guide you the traditions of those before you and to accept your repentance."
5169 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Allah wishes to make clear to you and to guide you the traditions of those before you," meaning: regarding the prohibition of mothers and daughters; such was the tradition of those before you. Then He said: "And Allah wishes to accept your repentance."

5170 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: The origin of repentance is from Allah.

الأَمَةِ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ- وَرُوِيَ عَنِ مُجَاهِدٍ وطاوس والحسن، وسعيد ابن جُبَيْرٍ وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَجَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَعَطِيَّةَ وَقَتَادَةَ وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ
٥١٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: وَأَنْ تَصْبِرُوا خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ قَالَ: إِنْ تَصْبِرُوا، فَلا يَنْكِحُ أَمَةً، فَيَكُونُ وَلَدُهُ مَمْلُوكِينَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
٥١٦٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ أَيْ: غُفِرَ الذَّنْبُ.

٥١٦٨ - وَبِهِ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَوْلُهُ: رَحِيمٌ قَالَ: يَرْحَمُ الْعِبَادَ عَلَى مَا فِيهِمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ سُنَنَ الذين من قبلكم ويتوب عليكم

قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ: قَوْلَهُ: يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَكُمْ وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ سُنَنَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ: مِنْ تَحْرِيمِ الأُمَّهَاتِ وَالْبَنَاتِ، كَذَلِكَ كَانَ سُنَّةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَاللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْكُمْ.

٥١٧٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: مَبْدَأُ التَّوْبَةِ مِنَ اللَّهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَيُرِيدُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الشَّهَوَاتِ
٥١٧١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: وَيُرِيدُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الشَّهَوَاتِ قَالَ: هم اليهود والنصارى «١» .
