[His saying, the Exalted: "And the wayfarer"]

[The first view]

5308 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And the wayfarer," he said: It is the poor guest who alights with the Muslims—and it was narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr similarly.

The second view:

5309 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported, Ma'mar reported, from Qatadah, and from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding: "And the wayfarer," he said: It is he who passes by you while he is a traveler—and it was narrated from al-Hasan, Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn 'Ali, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, and al-Dahhak similarly.

5310 - My father narrated to us, al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, Mindal narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And the wayfarer," he said: The wayfarer has a right in Zakat, even if he were wealthy, meaning: when he is cut off from his resources—and it was narrated from 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz, al-Zuhri, al-Dahhak, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similarly.

His saying, the Exalted: "And those whom your right hands possess"

5311 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Shibl narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And those whom your right hands possess," he said: That which Allah has placed under your authority, so treat them well; all of this Allah has enjoined.

5312 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim reported, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "And those whom your right hands possess," meaning: your male and female slaves; Allah enjoins that you treat them well, by fulfilling for them the rights that Allah has established for them.

His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful"

5313 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, al-Aswad ibn Shayban narrated to us, Yazid ibn 'Abd Allah ibn al-Shikhkhir narrated to us, who said: Mutarrif said: It used to reach me from Abu Dharr—a Hadith I longed to meet him for—so I met him and said: O Abu Dharr, it has reached me that you claim that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, told you that Allah

٥٣٠٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ: وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ قَالَ: هُوَ الضَّيْفُ الْفَقِيرُ الَّذِي يَنْزِلُ بِالْمُسْلِمِينَ- وَرُوِيَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.

الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:

٥٣٠٩ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «١» ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، وَعَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ: وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ قَالَ: هُوَ الَّذِي يَمُرُّ عَلَيْكَ وَهُوَ مُسَافِرٌ- وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، وَالضَّحَّاكِ.

نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

٥٣١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ، ثنا مِنْدَلٌ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ قَالَ: لابْنِ السَّبِيلِ حَقٌّ فِي الزَّكَاةِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ غَنِيّاً، يَعْنِي: إِذَا كَانَ مُنْقَطِعاً بِهِ- وَرُوِيَ عَنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَالزُّهْرِيِّ وَالضَّحَّاكِ، وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ

٥٣١١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثنا شِبْلٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلَهُ: وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ قَالَ: مَا خَوَّلَكَ اللَّهُ فَأَحْسِنْ صُحْبَتَهُ، كُلُّ هَذَا أَوْصَى اللَّهُ بِهِ.

٥٣١٢ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ فِي قَوْلِه: وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ يَعْنِي: مِنْ عَبِيدِكُمْ وَإِمَائِكُمْ يُوصِي اللَّهُ بِهِمْ خَيْراً أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ حُقُوقَهُمُ الَّتِي جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَنْ كَانَ مُخْتَالا فَخُوراً

٥٣١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا الأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابن الشِّخِّيرِ قَالَ: قَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ: كَانَ يَبْلُغْنِي عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ- حَدِيثٌ كُنْتُ أَشْتَهِي لِقَاءَهُ فَلَقِيتُهُ فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حدثكم أن الله
