4086 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "while you were few (humiliated)," he says: while you were few and weak; they were on that day three hundred and something over ten. And it was narrated from Ibn Sirin: three hundred and something over ten.
4087 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas regarding His saying: "And already had Allah given you victory at Badr while you were few," the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) and those with him met the polytheists at Badr, and it was the first battle the Prophet of Allah fought.
Qatadah and al-Rabi' said: The Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) said on that day to his companions: "You are today equal in number to the companions of Talut on the day he met Jalut, and they were three hundred and over ten or under twenty."
And Qatadah said: They were three hundred and thirteen men, and the polytheists on that day were a thousand men or nearly that.
4088 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "while you were few (humiliated)," he said: while you were fewer in number or weaker in strength.
4089 - 'Abbas al-Duri narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn al-Zibriqan narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from al-Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: The number of the people of Badr was three hundred and thirteen, and the Emigrants (Muhajirun) among them were seventy-seven, and the Helpers (Ansar) were two hundred and thirty-six.
His saying, the Exalted: "So fear Allah"
4090 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "So fear Allah that perhaps you may be grateful," meaning: So fear Me, for that is the gratitude for My favor.
His saying, the Exalted: "that you may be grateful"
4091 - Muhammad ibn Hibal al-San'ani al-Qahandazi informed us in what he wrote to me, 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-Ghaffar al-Qahandazi narrated to us, Sufyan—meaning Ibn 'Uyaynah—said: It is incumbent upon every Muslim to thank Allah for His granting victory at Badr. Allah says: "And already had Allah given you victory at Badr while you were few, so fear Allah that perhaps you may be grateful."

٤٠٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحْكَمٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَأَنْتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ يَقُولُ وَأَنْتُمْ قَلِيلٌ أَذِلَّةٌ، فَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ وَثَلاثُمِائَةٍ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ: بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ وَثَلاثُمِائَةٍ «١» .
٤٠٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنْتُمْ أَذِلَّةً الْتَقَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ عَلَى بَدْرٍ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلُ قِتَالٍ قَاتَلَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ.
قَالَ قَتَادَةُ وَالرَّبِيعُ: أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَئِذٍ لأَصْحَابِهِ: إِنَّكُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِعُدَّةِ أَصْحَابِ طَالُوتَ يَوْمَ لَقِيَ جَالُوتَ، وَكَانُوا ثَلاثَمِائَةٍ وَفَوْقَ الْعَشَرَةِ أَوْ دُونَ عِشْرِينَ
وَقَالَ قَتَادَةُ:
كَانُوا ثَلاثَمِائَةٍ وَثَلاثَةَ عَشَرَ رَجُلا وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَلْفُ رَجُلٍ أَوْ رَاهَقُوا «٢» ذَلِكَ «٣» .
٤٠٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: وأنتم أَذِلَّةٌ قَالَ: وَأَنْتُمْ أَقَلُّ عَدَداً، أَوْ أَضْعَفُ قُوَّةً.
٤٠٨٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الزِّبْرِقَانِ عَنْ حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: عدد أهل بدر ثلاثمائة وَثَلاثَةَ عَشَرَ وَكَانَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ مِنْهُمْ سَبْعَةٌ وَسَبْعِينَ، وَكَانَ الأَنْصَارُ مِائَتَيْنِ وَسِتَّةَ وَثَلاثِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ
٤٠٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ أَيْ فَاتَّقُونِ فَإِنَّهُ شُكْرُ نِعْمَتِي.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: تَشْكُرُونَ
٤٠٩١ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِبَالٍ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ الْقَهَنْدَزِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْغَفَّارِ الْقُهَنْدُزِيُّ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ: عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَشْكُرَ اللَّهَ فِي نَصْرِهِ بِبَدْرٍ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ: وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنْتُمْ أذلة فاتقوا الله لعلكم تشكرون.
