مجلد 3 · صفحة 96قوله تعالى: إن الله غفور حليم

الترجمة · EN

because of your opposition to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). Al-Hasan said: "They only feared the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) when he said to a group of them: 'Do not depart from your place.' So He punished them with what you have seen, and pardoned them by not annihilating them."

4388 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "But Allah has already pardoned them," when He did not punish them by annihilating them all.

His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing."

4389 - And by the same chain from Sa'id regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing," regarding what they had committed of shirk (polytheism).

4390 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is Forgiving" of major or numerous sins.

His saying: "Forbearing."

4391 - And by the same chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing," for He did not decree the Fire for those who fled on the day of Uhud after the fighting of Badr, as He did [regarding other matters] on the day of Badr; so this is a concession after the strictness.

4392 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Uthman ibn Sa'id ibn Kathir ibn Dinar narrated to us, Darrah—meaning ibn Rabi'ah—narrated to us, from Raja'—meaning ibn Abi Salamah—who said: "Forbearance is higher than intellect; indeed, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has named Himself with it."

His saying, the Exalted: "O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved."

4393 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, who said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved," meaning: Do not be like the hypocrites.

4394 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding "O you who have believed, do not be like those who disbelieved and said to their brothers when they traveled in the land or were fighting," he said: These are the hypocrites, the companions of 'Abd Allah ibn Ubayy.
