الترجمة · EN

His saying, Exalted is He: "And they distance themselves from it."

7206 - My father narrated to us, Waki‘ narrated to us, from Sufyan. And my father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Sufyan informed us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from one who heard Ibn ‘Abbas say: It was revealed concerning Abu Talib: "And they forbid it and distance themselves from it." He said: He used to forbid anyone from harming the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and he would distance himself from what he [the Prophet] brought, so as not to believe in him.

In the hadith of Abu Hudhayfah: "And they distance themselves from it," he said: He would turn away from what he brought.

7207 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And they distance themselves from it," he says: They withdraw from it.

7208 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam say regarding His saying: "And they forbid it and distance themselves from it," he said: "And they distance themselves from it": They remove it.

7209 - My father narrated to us, Yahya ibn Salih al-Wuhazi narrated to us, Abu Ma‘shar narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ka‘b regarding His saying: "They distance themselves from it": They do not follow him.

His saying: "And they do not destroy except their own selves, and they perceive [it] not."

7210 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, one who heard Ibn ‘Abbas say regarding: "And they do not destroy except their own selves, and they perceive [it] not," he said: Abu Talib.

His saying, Exalted is He: "If you could but see when they are detained before the Fire and say, 'Oh, would that we could return...'" the verse.

7211 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: If they were returned to the worldly life, they would be prevented between them and the guidance, just as We prevented them from it the first time while they were in the worldly life.

7212 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashajj narrated to us, ‘Ubayd Allah—meaning Ibn Musa—narrated to us, from Isra’il, from al-Suddi, Murrah al-Hamdani narrated to me, from Ibn Mas‘ud that he narrated to them, saying: They will be returned to the Fire and blocked from it by their deeds.
