His saying: "And We send not the messengers."
7315 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b that he used to recite it: "Mankind was one nation, then they differed, so Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners." Indeed, Allah only sent the messengers and revealed the scripture at the time of difference.
7316 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah: "So Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners." The first prophet to be sent was Nuh (Noah), may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
His saying: "Except as bringers of good tidings."
7317 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salih narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah al-Masfazari narrated to us, from Shayban al-Nahwi, Qatadah informed me, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Bringers of good tidings," he said: Bringing good news of Paradise.
His saying: "And warners."
7318 - And by the same chain, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: A warner against the Fire.
His saying: "So whoever believes and reforms."
7319 - Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah ibn al-Munadi informed us in what he wrote to me, Yunus ibn Muhammad al-Mu'addib narrated to us, Shayban al-Nahwi narrated to us, from Qatadah: "And reforms," he said: He reforms what is between him and Allah.
His saying: "There will be no fear concerning them."
7320 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah: "There will be no fear concerning them," meaning: In the Hereafter. It was narrated from Muqatil ibn Hayyan the like of that.
His saying: "Nor will they grieve."
7321 - And by the same chain, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Nor will they grieve," meaning: They will not grieve for death.
His saying: "But those who deny Our verses - the punishment will touch them."

قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا نُرْسِلُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
٧٣١٥ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا: كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَاخْتَلَفُوا فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ. إِنَّ اللَّهَ إِنَّمَا بَعَثَ الرُّسُلَ وَأَنْزَلَ الْكِتَابَ عِنْدَ الاخْتِلافِ.
٧٣١٦ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ، فَكَانَ أَوَّلُ نَبِيٍّ بُعِثَ نُوَحًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
قَوْلُهُ: إِلا مُبَشِّرِينَ.
٧٣١٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ الله المسفزاري، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ النَّحْوِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلَهُ:
مُبَشِّرِينَ قال: مُبَشِّرًا بِالْجَنَّةِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمُنْذِرِينَ.
٧٣١٨ - وَبِهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: نَذِيرًا مِنَ النَّارِ.
قَوْلُهُ: فَمَنْ آمَنَ وَأَصْلَحَ.
٧٣١٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُنَادِي فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ النَّحْوِيُّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَأَصْلَحَ قَالَ: أَصْلَحَ مَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ اللَّهِ.
قَوْلُهُ: فَلا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ.
٧٣٢٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: فَلا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ يَعْنِي فِي الآخِرَةِ. وَرُوِيَ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ.
٧٣٢١ - وَبِهِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلُهُ: وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ يَعْنِي: لَا يَحْزَنُونَ لِلْمَوْتِ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بآياتنا يمسهم العذاب.
