His saying: "Indeed, He is Forgiving."
7353 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Forgiving," meaning: for what he had committed before repentance.
His saying: "Merciful."
7354 - And by the same chain, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Merciful," meaning: to those who repent.
7355 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Merciful," he said: Merciful to His servants.
His saying, the Exalted: "And thus do We detail the verses."
7356 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "And thus do We detail the verses," as for "detail," it means: We clarify.
His saying: "And [so] that the way of the criminals will become evident."
7357 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding His saying: "And [so] that the way of the criminals will become evident," he said: Those who order you to drive these people away.
His saying: "Say, 'Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you invoke besides Allah,'" the verse.
7358 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu Qays, from Huzayl ibn Sharhabil who said: A man came to Abu Musa and Salman ibn Rabi'ah and asked them about a daughter, a son's daughter, and a sister. He said: The daughter gets half, and the sister gets half, and go to 'Abd Allah (Ibn Mas'ud), for he will follow our opinion. So he went to 'Abd Allah and informed him, and he said: "I would then be astray, and I would not be among the guided. I will judge regarding it with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "The daughter receives half, the daughter of the son receives the sixth, and whatever remains is for the sister."
