الترجمة · EN

The gathering, and he tells his companions something to make the people laugh, and thereby incurs the wrath of Allah. He said: So I met al-Nakha'i and mentioned that to him, and he said: He spoke the truth, and indeed that is in the Book of Allah. Then he recited this verse: "And when you see those who engage in (offensive) discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them..." until the end of the verse.

His saying, the Almighty: "concerning Our verses."

7432 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Musa, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim informed us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "concerning Our verses" – He means: the Qur'an.

His saying: "then turn away from them until they engage in a different conversation."

7433 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Isra'il, from Abu Yahya, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "then turn away from them until they engage in a different conversation" – He said: They are the People of the Scripture. He was forbidden from sitting with them when he heard them speaking about the Qur'an with other than the truth.

7434 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil, and His saying: "And when you see those who engage in (offensive) discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they engage in a different conversation," he says: Refrain from sitting with them, and do not listen to their conversation until they engage in a different conversation.

His saying: "And if Satan should cause you to forget."

7435 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik and Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding "And if Satan should cause you to forget" – He said: If you forget and then remember, do not sit with them.

His saying: "then do not remain after the reminder."

7436 - Usayd ibn 'Asim narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn Hafs narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding "And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder, with the wrongdoing people" – meaning after you remember.
