[6048] My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn al-Walid ibn Mihran narrated to us, Salamah—meaning Ibn al-Fadl—narrated to us, from Sulayman—meaning Ibn Qarm—from Simak ibn Harb, from Khalid ibn 'Ar'arah, from 'Ali regarding His saying: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," he said: The woman is brought [to feel] stinginess regarding her husband, concerning his person and his wealth.

[6049] My father narrated to us, Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," he said: The woman is stingy regarding the wealth of her husband and his children.

His saying, the Almighty: "stinginess."

[6050] Muhammad ibn 'Ammar narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman—meaning al-Dashtaki—narrated to us, 'Amr—meaning Ibn Abi Qays—narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," from her and from him.

[6051] My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to me, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," [it is] his passion for a thing he is eager for.

[6052] Ahmad ibn Sinan and Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah al-Mukharrimi narrated to us, both said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Shaybani, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," he said: Concerning the days [of division] and expenditure.

And it was narrated from 'Ata' that he said: Concerning expenditure.

[6053] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn 'Atiyyah narrated to us, al-Fudayl—meaning Ibn Marzuq—narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah regarding His saying: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," he said: Concerning sexual intercourse.

[6054] My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us, he said: Sufyan said regarding His saying: "and [they] are brought [to themselves] stinginess," he said: He wants to take from her, and she refuses to give to him, meaning in the khul'.

His saying, the Almighty: "And if you do good and fear [Allah]..." until the end of the verse.

[6055] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah the Almighty: "and fear [Allah]," meaning the believers, He warns them.
