[6063] I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim informed us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "So do not incline completely [toward one]," he says: Do not incline toward the young woman completely.

His saying, the Almighty: "...and leave her as if suspended."

[6064] Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn Waqid informed us, Yazid al-Nahwi informed us, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "...and leave her as if suspended," he said: Neither divorced nor having a husband.

It was narrated from Mujahid, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Hasan, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan something similar.

[6065] al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us (1), Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "...and leave her as if suspended," [it means] like one imprisoned and restrained.

His saying, the Almighty: "But if you do right and act uprightly, then indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful."

[6066] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "But if you do right and act uprightly," he said: [If you] do right between people.

His saying, the Almighty: "But if they separate [by divorce], Allah will enrich each [of them] from His abundance. And ever is Allah Encompassing, Wise."

[6067] Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (2) regarding His saying: "But if they separate," he said: Divorce. "Allah will enrich each [of them] from His abundance."

His saying, the Almighty: "And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And We have instructed those who were given the Scripture before you and yourselves to fear Allah."

[6068] 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Suwayd ibn Sa'id al-Anbari narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Husayn narrated to me that he wrote to Sufyan al-Thawri, and he dictated to him: From 'Abd Allah to so-and-so, as for what follows: I enjoin upon you the fear of Allah, for it is the injunction of Allah to His creation.
